[Video Tutorial] How to Get Water Out Of Phone Charging Port for iPhone and Android with or without rice

Charging Ports for iPhone and Android are Vulnerable

How to get water out of charging port is a commonly asked question by many. I’ve found there isn’t much on YouTube or the web that addresses this issue. Plus, when I did find some videos, they didn’t have very many views. Most of these videos were dated 2013, 2014 and even 2015, which made them outdated for quite a while as best practices change over time.

Have an iPhone or iPad with water damage? This guide will tell you how to get water out of iPhones and iPads’ charging ports. You might be surprised to see how easy it is to fix!

7 Steps to Get Water out of your Charing Port For iPhone and Android

How to Get Water Out Of Phone Charging Port

Step 1. Turn it off.

Step 2. Remove the SIM card tray and battery.

Step 3. Shake it out.

Step 4. Use a vacuum to suck any remaining liquid out.

Step 5. Shake again and lay it out to dry in a safe place overnight.

Step 6. While your phone is drying, absorb moisture from the headphone jack with a USB connector or with a piece of uncooked rice, which will help draw away any moisture the phone may have absorbed while it was lying on its side overnight.

Step 7. If it seems like you have successfully removed all the water, test your phone in small increments, and charge it for 15 minutes before turning it on to see if it works properly and safely before using it fully again.

Removing Water from your Charging Ports for Samsung and Androids

  • For at least 2 hours, set the phone upright. This should be done in a cool area or directly under the sunlight. This will dry out the moisture from the charging port.
  • Try turning on the phone and charging it again after about 2 hours. If your Samsung s10 doesn’t turn on, you can try air drying it.
  • Turn the phone off before you move on to the next step.
  • Place the tissue paper in the charging port.
  • Place the tissue in the charging port for at least 1 to 2 minutes so that it can absorb any moisture. To ensure that the charging port is completely dry, you may need to change the tissue paper several times.

What does it Signify when there is Water in the Charging Port For Android and iOS ?

It’s a pretty important part of your phone. If there is water in the charging port, it can cause major damage to your phone. Water can get into the port if you have liquid spilled on the table, and then plug your phone into the charger. This water can short out your phone and cause it to stop working properly.

The first thing to do is let it dry out. If you don’t have time to wait for this to happen naturally, you can use a blow dryer or heat gun on a low setting (no higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit) to help speed up the process. If this doesn’t work, or if there was a lot of liquid spilled on your phone, take it to an Apple Store or other authorized repair shop so they can clean out the port and replace any parts that might need replacing due to corrosion from water damage.

Don’t do these when water gets in your charging port

When water gets into your charging port, it can cause damage to your phone that is not easily fixed. Water damage can be caused by a number of things, including a cracked screen, dropping your phone in water, or even washing it with too much soap and water.

If you find yourself with a wet phone, here are some steps that you shouldn’t take:

  • Don’t turn the device on before drying off the exterior thoroughly.
  • Don’t use a blow dryer to dry the exterior of your device. This could cause further damage if you’re not careful.
  • Don’t plug the device into an outlet with its battery still wet — this could short out your battery and ruin it permanently.
  • Don’t throw away any damaged parts (like an earpiece speaker or microphone) until they’re completely dry — they could mess up other components if they’re still wet when you put them back together again!

Preventing Your Charging Port from Water or Moisture (Android and ios)

You might be surprised, but your smartphone can get damaged by water and moisture. The charging port is one of the most vulnerable parts of a phone, so it’s important to take precautions to keep it safe.

So how can you prevent your iPhone’s charging port from getting wet? Here are some tips:

  • Don’t leave your phone in the bathroom when you take a shower. You may think it’s safe to do so, but if your phone falls into the tub, there’s good chance water will get into the charging port.
  • Don’t use public bathrooms where toilet seats are left up and/or unclean. You don’t want someone else’s germs touching your phone.
  • Don’t charge your phone at night on a bedside table where it could fall off and get wet if you accidentally knock it off during sleep (or if someone else does).
  • Don’t charge your phone in the kitchen while cooking — especially while using utensils that might drip food or other liquids onto it while preparing meals.

Wrapping Up

Hopefully, these tips will help you get the water out of your phone’s charging port and avoid any lasting damage. Having a device that can’t be charged doesn’t fun, so follow these tricks to get your phone back in working order as soon as possible.
